Che Artist
My Background
Che' is an artist that specializes in oil and watercolor landscapes and still life. The artist began her love for art in kindergarten when her teachers recognized her high level of artistic skills while living in New Orleans. Che' began private art lessons in kindergarten and continued her entire life of learning art. While in college, she took classes in art studio every semester at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. She moved to Richmond, VA in 1981 and resides in Manakin Sabot, VA.
After retiring from owning her private practice of dentistry in 2015, she began the expansion of her art studio. She now enjoys painting oil landscapes and still life when time allows which is most days to some degree. She has been awarded international and national awards. Her extensive travel allows her to be creative in all her painting. "I see a panorama of cliffs on an ocean and free the scene to take life on canvas!"
My Medium
I use primarily oil but will paint with watercolors also. I began my career in pastel, then watercolor, followed by my favorite, oil.
My Inspiration
I enjoy traveling in my spare time and many of my pieces are directly influenced by these travels in nature. I love recreating plants and wildlife in my work. When I paint, I am visiting that place. A surreal experience.
