The Quarry

This  week’s featured painting is titled “The Quarry.” I have often traveled to the Blue Ridge Mountains and am always in awe of the beautiful, varied rocks found in quarries. You can see the layers of rock that reflect the passage of time, with mica shining brilliantly and copper displaying its vibrant rust colors proudly. I loved painting this as I wanted to jump into the water and feel the waterfall splash the negative ions all around.

During my travels throughout the world, I am amazed at the beautiful colors that surround us , from the corals and blues in the sunsets to the clear turquoise of our oceans. Everywhere I travel,, I am always taking photos and filing the scene in my brain for use later.. We are truly blessed to live in such a lovely environment.
